Cookies
This blog is hosted on WordPress.com which uses Google Analytics to track its users. This enables WordPress to create detailed statistics of the content users read in blogs hosted on WordPress servers. However, as Google Analytics is utilized on many other websites, Google is able to obtain a much more detailed picture of every user’s movement across a large portion of the Internet. I therefore recommend to deactivate persistent cookies originating from WordPress.com to at least prevent Google from tracking you on WordPress.com. As Google Analytics hooks into a website’s “native” cookies, it cannot be easily blocked globally.
A good utility to manage cookies within the Firefox web browser on a per-site basis is the CS Lite extension.
